Will Turner

Hello, my name is William Turner, and I am very excited to work with you and your
student! I hold a B.S. degree in Secondary Social Science Education with an M.A. in History. I
have over 15 years of experience teaching high school social studies to students of multiple
ability levels. The majority of my experience lies in teaching U.S. History and AP U.S. History.
However, I also have extensive experience teaching World History, Government, and
Psychology. Other AP courses I have taught include AP Psychology, AP European History, and
AP Human Geography. I am a strong believer that any student can learn history and be
successful given the right approach. The key is helping students understand that history is more
than a list of dates and names and instead helping students to understand the past by helping
them connect it to their own lives and experiences. Ultimately, learning history is about
understanding where we came from, how far we’ve come, and where we are going as a society.
My teaching philosophy is centered around the idea that learning about history and culture is an
important part of preparing students to be well-informed and engaged members of a global
society.
