British Literature / AP English Literature

Explore the rich tradition of British literature.  Develop skills to engage in literary analysis and discussion of celebrated works and uncover the rich tapestry of British literary history.  Explore the themes, characters, and historical contexts that have shaped these classic texts, while improving your writing skills.

This class can coordinate with my European History course if desired.  

This 15 week semester course will explore British Literature of the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and the 18th century.  We will trace the development of this literature into the Renaissance and early modern period.  This course will explore the historical context for each piece, as well as the literary features of the writings.  We will read a variety of genres of writing from the most significant British writers of the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and 18th century.
