About the course
Welcome to Mandarin Level 1, an engaging beginner course taught by a native speaker who is fluent in English and designed for students with little or no prior experience in Mandarin Chinese. In this interactive class, students will build a strong foundation in essential vocabulary, pronunciation, and everyday conversation skills while exploring the rich cultures of the Chinese-speaking world. Through games, speaking activities, listening practice, and guided reading and writing exercises, students will gain confidence using Mandarin in real-life situations such as greetings, introductions, numbers, family, school, hobbies, and daily routines. This class follows the structure of HSK level 1.
Students will also be introduced to the basics of Chinese characters, tones, and pinyin (the Romanized pronunciation system used for Mandarin).
